Bursary Report: 2020

Here is an extract from the bursary report:

When Kenya was hit by the Covid 19 pandemic, the Government closed all schools in March 2020 and our bursary students returned home, just before the Easter holidays. This report therefore follows a very different format from those of previous years, but the following gives an account of what happened for the rest of 2020.
The integration of the bursary programme with the libraries at Kakuyuni and Dabaso schools has been critical throughout this year. Although the schools were closed the librarians were able to convince the local authorities to keep the libraries open with necessary safety measures in place. This included sanitiser, hand washing facilities, the use of masks and a limit on the number of people being able to access the libraries at any one time. The libraries have remained open throughout the year and this has been instrumental in supporting our bursary students.
