Lucy Evans

Lucy is the Treasurer of both the Akili Trust and Akili Community Libraries and provides the vital link between the two organisations.

Lucy was born in 1964. She has recently retired from running a successful Executive Search firm for the last 10 years. Prior to that she was a corporate financial advisor and financial analyst in investment banking, having entered the banking world direct from Exeter University where she gained a First Class Honours degree in Psychology with Maths.

Lucy has been involved with Akili from its inception and has responsibility for all financial, regulatory and accounting matters in the UK and Kenya. Lucy met Nicci Crowther in 1999 when they shared an office and she was one of the first people Nicci recruited to be a trustee.  Nicci was keen to have a diverse group of trustees with a variety of skills and experience. Lucy liked the idea of getting involved with a small charity that could work directly with local people. Through the libraries and the bursary schemes, Akili is touching lives directly and very positively.

Lucy is married to Tim and has one step-son. They travel extensively, mostly to sporting events around the world and enjoy spending time with friends and family. Lucy visited Dabaso and Kakuyuni in March 2009 and looks forward to making regular trips to Kenya for Akili.
